How I chose
- Reputation: I gathered personal testimonials from others in the same situation. I listened for remarks on professionalism, safety, and successful results.
- Experience: Trusting your skin to someone who picked up their skills from a YouTube tutorial is not the best idea. I made sure the clinics I shortlisted had certified practitioners with at least 2 years of experience in laser tattoo removal.
- Technology: When speaking to these tattoo removal shops, I asked about the lasers they used and did research on the latest technology.
- Consultation: I booked consultations to get a feel for the place and the people, discuss the process, and discuss pricing. If the clinic was vague or pushy, I ran in the opposite direction.

They offer a free consultation, where I rocked up with a million questions, and they answered every single one without any rush. Top-notch customer service, really.
They use the PicoSure laser too, which is one of the finest lasers on the market for tattoo removal, especially to lessen scarring.
They don’t have great wait times (a lot of people booking with them!) but I used it to my advantage and spoke with several of the clients coming out for perspectives.
From what I gathered, customers here have seen great results in just a few sessions. But others did mention that they felt the sessions were a bit pricey.

Upon entering NAAMA, what hit me first was the sleek and modern decor. It felt more like a boutique hotel than a clinic. Everything was spotless!
The staff welcomed me warmly, and my consultant (Jada, I think?) took the time to explain the process and told me about their aftercare cream too.
The LightSense laser they use supposedly has a shorter pulse width and a more precise spot size, promising less discomfort. So, it’s perfect for people who aren’t that great with pain.
I also spoke to several others about their own ink stories. Some started treatments three months ago for rather regrettable tattoos of their ex-partners’ faces and raved about how professional the sessions were.
Others told me about the minimal scarring compared to other places they had gone to and ended up with a patchy mess. Definitely plus points in my book!
That said, some suggested that their packages were overpriced. And others with very intricate tattoos didn’t like how they had to wait at least 4 weeks before returning for another session.

I visited INKDLONDON for a 15–30 minute consultation. Jade, their tattoo removal specialist, greeted me with such enthusiasm that I almost felt like she thought she could literally erase my dubious past decisions with sheer willpower.
And from speaking with others, Jade is a pro at crafting personalised treatment plans to remove the tattoo in no time. She certainly won me over with her suggestions for my case.
Others I talked to also liked how Jade explained every step, and they didn’t have to wait too long in between sessions. Just be prepared to part with a deposit ranging from £50 to £100 before beginning.

Your Laser Clinic boasts of using a Q-switched laser. If you’re going “huh, so what”, dermatologists claim this is the Holy Grail for multi-coloured tattoos, so it’s a good thing.
Anyway, the consultation I had with them was brief and straight to the point. When I inquired about large and colourful tattoos, they were realistic about the timeframe in sessions it would take to remove (more than 3 if I had a tattoo the size of a face).
Talking to their other clients painted a bit of a pattern. Many praised Haley, one of their specialists, for knowing exactly what she was doing. Others with colourful sleeve tattoos commented on how their tattoos faded so much in just six sessions.
However, some felt the aftercare process could have been explained better.

Zapp Laser is renowned for their PicoSure laser technology and their discounted payment plans. From what I’ve observed, the staff here are professional and informative. And the studio was extremely clean!
During the consultation I did with them, they were clear on their aftercare treatment process and didn’t lie about it being pain-free.
Others I spoke to who did a patch test with them said they felt completely at ease because Zapp’s specialists took the time to discuss their options with clear honesty.
And the overall consensus from those who’ve done more than three sessions was that the colours were fading and it looked like there would be minimal scarring.
But keep in mind that some I spoke to did mention having difficulties booking their first session. A few commented on how it’s not always easy to get a hold of them through the phone.
